Affiliate marketing is without a doubt one of the most recognized ways to make money online. Affiliate marketing allows individuals to create several streams of income from the comfort of their own home. Yes it is true that affiliate marketing can be a wonderful alternative to your typical 9 to 5, but one must know how to make money as an affiliate to feel the true benefits of being an affiliate. Let me tell you, there are several different techniques when it comes to making money online with affiliate marketing. This article will take a look at one very effective but often overlooked method for finding success with affiliate marketing.
Many people focus on such strategies as pay per click advertising, blogs and article marketing to generate sells. There is one strategy that can be just as effective as any other technique, and is free to do. What I'm talking about here is free classifieds. Free classified sites are sites that allows marketers to post up classifieds that promote their goods or services. Using these sites to generate sales as an affiliate are easy to do. One of the great benefits of using Free classifieds is that you are getting targeted traffic because when you post on classified sites people that view your ads are people that are searching for something that is similar to what you are offering.
Even though using free classifieds are easy to use, there are some tips and tricks that you can do to maximize your earning potential. Here are some things that you should make sure that you should do to make your ads get results.
1. Only post ads on high traffic sites. This is important because there are tons of free classified sites out there, which many are pure garbage. You want to make sure that your ads are on sites that people visit on a regular basis. I would recommend doing a google search for "free classified sites" and do a little research from there. To save you a little time, here are 2 of the most visited classified sites are Craigslist.org and Backpage.com. I would start here.
2. Make sure your ad titles are catchy. Think outside the box a little. Really ask yourself "would I click on this ad". If you can honestly say yes to this question, you probably have a good title.
3. Keep your ad short, sweet and mysterious. What I mean is, do not try to sell in your ad. You want to make the viewer of the ad to want to go to your website or affiliate page. So when you are writing your ad, write it like a really good teaser.
4. Post as often as you can as many places as you can. Some sites like Craigslist only allows you to post so many ads at a time. This I why I recommend signing up with at least 5 to 10 free classified sites. Once signed up with them, post as many as you can on each site. You will see some nice results by doing this.

- You could develop one of these catchy "tricks" that a buzz can be created about. Like the million dollar web page I saw the other day.
- You could sell stuff on eBay.
- You could buy and then sell stuff on eBay. I have no idea about this. Maybe someone can shed some light on that.
- You could sell e-books. Many people make money online with their computer by selling e-books about topics that relate to their website.
- You could start a home based business. There are many business opportunities that are great ways to put extra money in your pocket.
- You could save money. Their are many ways to save money by doing things online. Saving money is much like making money.
- You could ask for donations. People ask others to contribute to a worthy cause. You could then allow someone to match a sizable amount of money if you agree to feature their site on your home page.
- You could consult. If you have a unique area of expertise you could leverage your knowledge to earn some extra income online.
- You could be a problem solver. And get known as a person who will know the answer to particular problems that arise online. This is always a good way to find yourself in a money making situation.
- You could do SEO. There are many people who are willing to spend money on search engine optimization. Especially the technical stuff. (off page)
- You could connect people with people who can earn money by working together.
- You could find stuff online. Say some wants a certain kind of wheel barrow. You find it on eBay or a classified and let them know. Mark it up and make a profit from your living room.
- You could find a type at home opportunity.
- You could do bookkeeping work online and get paid for it.
- You could trade stocks. Not sure here. But you can find a way to get started online.
Over the next few weeks I will extrapolate on these general ways to make money online. I will see if I can find experts who have had results in the areas I'm not so familiar with myself. 2.) Sell other people's products, join affiliate programs
Sound difficult? Don't worry, It is actually very simple.
Imagine in the real world, a salesman promotes his/her company's products. Once he/she has closed a deal, the company will pay him/her a certain amount of commission. We often recommend earning some extra income on the side as a method for paying off debt. Many people reply that they don't really have a means of doing so or their situation doesn't allow them any time away from the kids, etc to have a second job. 1. Blog for Ad Revenue – Start a blog on a topic you love, build up a reader base and make money from ads on your site.
2. Be a Forum Moderator – Keep out the spam and build a community and you can earn a little cash on the side moderating forums.
3. Write Articles for Websites – Content is King on websites. Keeping sites updated with fresh, high quality content is a chore for website owners and often outsourced. If you’re a good writer with experience in an area you can make a living off of it. Debbie Dragon is a frequent contributor here and also teaches a class on freelance writing.
4. Be a Guest Author – Some higher quality sites will pay between $50 - $400 for a solid article on a topic their readers are interested in. The results are never assured with this method, but the rewards are much higher.
